Dear Parishioners of St. John Vianney,
Exciting news is buzzing around the parish – Father Pierce is gearing up to hang up his role as Pastor and retire in July!
It's been quite the journey with Father Pierce, hasn't it? He arrived at our doorstep right at the onset of the pandemic, navigating uncharted waters with a smile (underneath that mask). Despite the challenges of being unable to formally meet his flock and missing out on the grand installation ceremony due to the pandemic's grip, Father Pierce never wavered in his dedication to enriching our parish life and guiding us closer to the heart of Jesus Christ.
Now, it's our turn to show appreciation for his tireless efforts and unwavering spirit. And what better way to do so than with a fabulous retirement party?
Please mark your calendars for Sunday, June 23rd, because we're throwing Father Pierce the send-off of a lifetime! After the 10:00 AM Mass, head over to the Vianney Room of the Parish Center for a celebration fit for a beloved priest. (Please note that weekend the Mass schedule is different. We will have our usual vigil Mass and one Mass that Sunday at 10:00 AM.)
To ensure we pull off a shindig worthy of Father Pierce's legacy, we kindly ask for a contribution of $15 per person or $35 per family (parents and children under 18 in the same household) to offset cost of the festivities. Tickets will be available for purchase after all Masses starting the first week of May, or you can conveniently snag them through Faith Direct by clicking the box below.
And listen up, folks! We're also collecting donations for a special retirement gift for Father Pierce. If you'd like to chip in, make your donation if paying by check, payable to St. John Vianney Church with "Father Pierce's gift" in the memo line, or you can also donate for the gift online. You may drop your donation in the collection basket during Mass, mail it in, or hand it over to the friendly face selling tickets after Mass.
Let's all come together to say goodbye to Father Pierce and send him off in style. We can't wait to see you there and party it up with our beloved priest!
You may puchase your tickets or contribute to his gift after Mass beginning this weekend, May 4.
With heartfelt thanks and warm regards,
Nicole Olea
