We are a faith based interdenominational Christian ministry that meets at the Family Life Center of St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Our mission is to provide moral, spiritual and practical support to recently released inmates from the Calvert County Detention Center. This is primarily a mentoring program that will, in addition, provide practical advice in locating food, clothing, housing, job skills and jobs.

Kairos volunteers go into prisons in teams of 30-40 to pray, share the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ, share meals and fellowship with the incarcerated on a one-to-one basis. Volunteers address the spiritual needs of prisoners.
If you would like more information about volunteering, please visit the Kairos website:

Our Kairos 4-day weekend at Greensville Correctional Center is coming up October 24th—27th!
K-78 will be sharing Christ's love with 42 inmates who will, most likely, encounter Christ's love
and forgiveness for the first time in their lives.
You can "visit" these 42 men in prison by signing up for our prayer chain!
Prayerfully consider giving of your time over the course of the May weekend to pray for us on the Kairos team and for the 42 men who are beginning a life-changing journey.
Please sign-up on our prayer chain sheet on the two clipboards in the Festival Room!
Thank you and God Bless!
The purpose of Kairos is to build strong Christian communities inside prison walls. The transformation begins with a short course in Christianity. Cookies are distributed to every resident and staff member during the visit to the Greensville Correction Facility in Virginia. We will be visiting the facility the Weekend of October 24th—27th.
The homemade cookies are a tangible and vital expression of Christ's love and witness from the outside Christian Community - YOUR WITNESS -during this life-changing visit!
· Chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies are favorites.
· Please do not put granulated or powdered sugar on the top of the cookies.
· Place your cookies in clear plastic zip lock bags (bags are being distributed after Masses on the weekend of October 12th & 13th).
· As you bake and pack your cookies, please pray for the men who will be eating them- that they would know God's love through this ministry.
